The Arizona Cardinals find themselves this offseason looking quite similar to 2023. In 2023, they made Jonathan Gannon a first-time head coach with questions at quarterback (Kyler Murray had torn his ACL) after a disappointing season.
This offseason, coming off a 3-14 season in which Murray finished the season on injured reserve, they fired Gannon and made Mike LaFleur a first-time head coach.
In 2023, little was expected from the Cardinals, and when projected win totals came out from US sportsbooks, they were tied for the lowest projected win total with 5.5. That would drop to 4.5.
DraftKings Sportsbook released projected win totals for every NFL team, and the Cardinals once again find themselves at the bottom of the league.
They are tied with the Miami Dolphins for the lowest projected win total in 2026 at 4.5.

The Cardinals have even odds (-110) for both the Over and the Under. So do the Dolphins, so both teams are seen as equally likely win more or less than the projection.
It just shows how little is expected from the Cardinals. It makes sense. They have uncertainty at quarterback. They have a rookie head coach. They play in arguably the best division in the NFL.
Sadly, though, this means that they are looking at a rebuild year for the second time in four years. That’s not how you want to run a team.
