NFL Network will soon join ESPN’s family of networks.
That comes as part of a recently approved deal that gives ESPN ownership of several assets of NFL Media as the league takes a 10% stake in the network.
NFL Network will be under the Worldwide Leader’s umbrella of channels and available on the network’s new offering, ESPN Unlimited.
ESPN chairman Jimmy Pitaro told CNBC this week that subscribers will be able to watch NFL Network at no additional cost.
“One of the things that we are very focused on is taking friction out of the sports fan experience,” Pitaro said to CNBC, via Sports Business Journal. “NFL Network will be included in the ESPN app and will be included as a part of the ESPN Unlimited tier, which is available for $29.99 per month. In other words, there will not be an upsell for NFL Network.”
ESPN Unlimited includes access to the network’s linear channels, live content, and non-live content. As Pitaro noted, it’s currently priced at $29.99 per month and will remain that way when NFL Network is added.
