Former New Orleans Saints assistant coach and NFL wide receiver Ronald Curry is the latest to join Sean Payton on the Denver Broncos coaching staff. On Thursday, it was reported that Curry will be joining the Broncos as the team’s new wide receivers coach. He had spent the previous two seasons as the quarterbacks coach for the Buffalo Bills. Curry was an NFL wide receiver for seven seasons with the Oakland Raiders from 2002 to 2008. He had 193 receptions for 2,347 yards and 13 touchdowns over his career.

Ronald Curry has been an NFL assistant coach since 2014. In 2016, he was hired by Sean Payton and the New Orleans Saints as an offensive assistant. Over eight years with Payton and the Saints, Curry would serve as a wide receiver coach, quarterback coach, and passing game coordinator. He’d remain on the New Orleans staff for two seasons after Payton’s resignation from the Saints following the 2021 campaign.

In 2024, Curry was added to the staff of the Buffalo Bills. He was free to be hired after the Bills parted ways with head coach Sean McDermott after this past season. Curry is one of several former Saints players and coaches to be reunited with Payton in Denver. The Saints traded the contract rights of Payton to the Broncos during the 2023 offseason. Payton has guided Denver to two straight playoff appearances, including an AFC West title and berth in the conference championship game this past season.
