The Atlanta Falcons made major changes to their coaching staff and front office once the 2025 season ended. The team fired head coach Raheem Morris and general manager Terry Fontenot before naming Kevin Stefanski and Ian Cunningham as replacements.
The Falcons opted to retain defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich, but they did not extend the same courtesy to offensive coordinator Zac Robinson and special teams coordinator Marquice Williams. Robinson was hired to the same position by the division-rival Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Meanwhile, Williams appears to be headed to Las Vegas. According to a report from NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero, the Raiders are expected to hire Williams as their new senior special teams coach.
“Former Falcons special teams coordinator Marquice Williams has agreed to terms with the Raiders to be their senior special teams coach, per source,” wrote Pelissero.
Williams is considered an up-and-coming coach in the NFL, but Atlanta’s special teams unit struggled last season. The Falcons struggled to find a kicker for the first half of the season. Younghoe Koo was released after missing a game-tying field goal attempt against the Buccaneers in Week 1.

Parker Romo took over at kicker for the next few weeks, but he hit a rough patch and was released around mid-season. The Falcons then signed veteran Zane Gonzalez, who stabilized the position for the remainder of the year.
Gonzalez is a free agent, but considering how well he played down the stretch, it would be a surprise if he’s not back with the Falcons in 2026.
Williams will join first-year Raiders head coach Klint Kubiak’s staff. Many Falcons fans wanted to see Kubiak get the job in Atlanta, and it was somewhat surprising to see him go to Las Vegas.
