Palestine Westwood advertises football coach/AD position

PALESTINE, Texas (KLTV) — It appears the head football coach and athletic director at Palestine Westwood, Richard Bishop, is no longer in the position.

Palestine Westwood ISD announced on its Facebook page that it is looking for a replacement.

A call to Westwood ISD for comment just before 5 p.m. was not answered.

A UIL committee suspended Bishop in October 2024 in connection with allegations that he was illegally filming his opponents.

The committee extended his probation in August in connection with an allegation that Bishop allowed a student who was not enrolled at Westwood to participate in workouts.
