The Pittsburgh Steelers 2025 NFL season has come to a close. Because the Steelers are among the 31 teams who did not finish fulfilling their ultimate goal, they are in the process of wrapping up their season and moving forward into 2026.
Since the Steelers conduct exit interviews with all their players, and the fact I have done these articles in the past, we thought we would do them yet again here at Steel Curtain Network. By outlining two players each day, we will be able to look at their season in retrospect as well as looking toward the future. Since the Steelers have historically started their interviews with rookies and those heading into free agency, we will attempt to do the same to some degree. To start, we will pair the most recent draftees with another player at the same position (if possible) as we work through this process to eventually cover the entire Steelers roster.
Next up are wide recievers Roman Wilson and Scotty Miller.
Roman Wilson

Position: Wide Receiver
Years with the Steelers: 2
Years in the NFL: 2
Contract Status: Signed through 2027
Contract Details: $1,566,864 salary cap hit for 2026. Would cost the Steelers $499,152 in dead money if released and save $1,067,712.
Games played in 2025: 13 regular season
Games started in 2025: 4 regular season
Snaps (regular season): 253 (offense), 11 (special teams)
PFF score: 59.8 (DNQ for ranking)
Notable stats: Wilson had 12 receptions on 21 targets for 166 receiving yards with two touchdowns and one fumble.
Notes: While 2025 was not a strong season for Roman Wilson in his second year after missing all but five offensive snaps is rookie season, it ended even worse. Wilson was inactive as a healthy scratch for five of the Steelers last six games (including the playoffs) with the only exception being Week 17 against the Cleveland Browns. Wilson’s last reception of the season came in the middle of November against the Cincinnati Bengals. Although Wilson did have two touchdowns, both were in “garbage time“ in games the Steelers were losing significantly. The biggest hope for Roman Wilson going forward is it is an entirely new coaching regime, but knowing if he will be utilized at all is only in the “unknown“ category rather than the “no“ category.
Scotty Miller

Position: Wide Receiver
Years with the Steelers: 2
Years in the NFL: 7
Contract Status: Unrestricted Free Agent
Contract Details: Contract expiring with no dead money.
Games played in 2025: 13 regular season, 1 postseason
Games started in 2025: None
Snaps (regular season): 158 (offense), 17 (special teams)
PFF score: 57.0 (DNQ for Ranking)
Notable stats: Miller had 9 receptions on 14 targets for 62 receiving yards with no touchdowns.
Notes: Turning 29 this summer, it feels that Scotty Miller has been around the NFL for much longer than seven seasons. Not eclipsing 70 yards receiving either of his years in Pittsburgh, Miller is a bottom-of-the-depth-chart guy that offers experience when needed. Seeing the Steelers bring him back for the league minimum would not be shocking, or if they moved on under their new coaching staff would not surprise me either. The bottom line is, Scotty Miller is not the answer for the Steelers at wide receiver moving forward whether he sticks around to try to earn a roster spot or not.
