The NFL Scouting Combine is a little over a week away, and teams are starting to populate their list of potential prospect interviews as they start stacking their draft boards. For the Tennessee Titans, there is no doubt that the front office, scouts, and staff will be paying attention to many of the top prospects at multiple positions.
While neither defensive coordinator Gus Bradley nor offensive coordinator Brian Daboll offered any insight into specific players or how they could fit into their systems, Bradley did describe traits for the edge position. And Tom Fonelli of CBS Sports must have listened in. His pick for the Titans in his latest mock draft fits that description.

4. Rueben Bain Jr. EDGE – Miami (Fla.)
You’re likely going to see conflicting opinions of Rueben Bain Jr. based on his measurables, but this is one of those times I like to rely on the tape. The first time I saw Bain play for Miami as a freshman, he popped off the screen, and I’ve followed his college career with googly eyes ever since. He has limitations, but he also has a pretty damn high floor.
Bain and Texas Tech edge David Bailey are often linked to the Titans with the fourth-overall selection, and both would make sense and fit what Bradley described. Bain is a powerful edge that has enough position flexibility to make an impact on every down.
While he may not light the world on fire at the combine, his tape should outweigh the football in shorts, and that tape shows an innate ability to be disruptive in the backfield and a three-down force. Tennessee needs edge help, and Bain would definitely fill that need.
