(KNGT-FM) – It has been an interesting last few years for the New Orleans Saints organization, and owner Gayle Benson has been one of the ones who has taken the most heat. Even though Mrs. Benson has been adamant that she wouldn’t entertain the idea of selling the organization, what if there was a local businessman who was adamant?

Gayle Benson is currently the owner of the New Orleans Saints and the New Orleans Pelicans. She took control of both teams after her husband, the beloved Tom Benson, passed away in 2018. Mrs. Benson has done a great job of giving back to the community and allowing the football guys do their jobs and staying out of it.

Louisiana businessman Todd Graves says he would love to own an NFL team one day, and maybe even the New Orleans Saints.

Graves is the co-founder of Raising Cane’s, the popular chicken-finger restaurant that started in Baton Rouge. In a recent interview with TMZ Sports, Graves said he loves football and wouldn’t rule out becoming an NFL owner in the future.

Graves is 53 years old and started Raising Cane’s in 1996. According to Forbes, he is worth about $22 billion. That means he could afford to buy an NFL team if one became available.

“For me, I love football,” Graves said. “I love the fanfare of it. I love the fact that coaches and teams have to put together amazing plays and amazing teams. The athletes are incredible.”

In late 2025, she told The Times-Picayune that she has no plans to sell the team. She has also made sure the Saints must stay in New Orleans if they are ever sold. Money from any future sale would go to local charities.

But if that ever changes, Saints fans may feel better knowing a Louisiana native like Graves could be interested in keeping the team right where it belongs.

Graves spoke highly of Benson in the interview with TMZ Sports.

“Gayle’s amazing,” he said. “She’s a sharp lady. I respect her. We’re good friends. I learn from her. She’s an incredible businesswoman and does so much for the community.”

For now, it’s just talk. But it’s talk that has many fans wondering about the future of the black and gold. I know many Saints fans would like to entertain the idea of Graves being the owner of the Saints. Might as well throw the Pelicans in there as well…
