As the NFL offseason gets underway for the Las Vegas Raiders, the team has been extremely busy, bringing in new head coach Klint Kubiak while overhauling the coaching staff for what could be a game-changing 2026 for the storied NFL franchise.

Although superstar defensive Maxx Crosby has tried to end all the noise about the constant trade rumors about him potentially being shipped elsewhere during the offseason, the rumors have only intensified, with everyone chiming in on where people think he’ll land if the Raiders do decide to trade him before the 2026 campaign.

One trade scenario that might intrigue the Raiders and Crosby has Las Vegas sending the perennial Pro Bowler back to Michigan, where it all began for one of the best pass rushers in the NFL today.

Alex Ballentine of Bleacher Report proposed the following deal for the Raiders to trade Crosby to the Detroit Lions, where Las Vegas would get two draft picks and cornerback Terrion Arnold.

Lions Receive: Edge Maxx Crosby

Raiders Receive: 2026 first-round pick (No. 17), 2027 second-round pick, CB Terrion Arnold

However, this is likely a dream scenario for the Lions rather than the Raiders, as Las Vegas would likely ask for more in this deal for its franchise player.

Although not the massive trade haul many have been projecting, a Crosby trade may benefit both sides, as they’ll bring an update in the secondary while also landing a potentially solid rookie in the 2026 NFL Draft at No. 17 overall, while also getting another talented young player next year in the second round.

The Lions make a lot of sense as a team that has lost momentum as a contender, though. Dan Campbell’s group seemed to fade from the spotlight as the year went on.

Pairing Crosby with Aidan Hutchinson puts them right back in that spotlight. It would finally give Crosby a strong bookend while putting the Lions right back in the NFC conversation.

It would be a win-now move for the Lions, which they would likely jump at, while the Raiders might kindly decline or counter with a bigger trade haul coming to Las Vegas.

With the Maxx Crosby trade rumors pouring in left and right on a daily basis as the NFL offseason gets underway, former Raiders quarterback and teammate of the superstar defensive end, Derek Carr, recently gave his two cents on the Home Grown podcast with his brother, David Carr, on whether he thinks Las Vegas should trade Crosby.

“No. Period. Next,” Carr said.

At this point, it seems the Raiders’ brass and Crosby are content with their partnership moving forward, but it remains to be seen whether that is still the case ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft, as Las Vegas might get trade offers they’ll have to consider.
