John Harbaugh continues building his new staff with the New York Giants, and several familiar faces from his time with the Baltimore Ravens are joining him.

The Giants announced six new hires, including Sam Rosengarten as director of high performance. The team also added five football analysts: Skyler Mornhinweg, Taylor Kolste, Patrick Moynahan, Kyrell Michael and Bonner Bordelon. The moves come as Harbaugh finalizes his inaugural staff after being named the franchise’s 21st head coach on January 17.

Sam Rosengarten Joins Giants as Director of High Performance

Rosengarten brings nine seasons of NFL experience, all with the Ravens, where he previously held the same role. In Baltimore, he oversaw player monitoring systems, training load management, recovery protocols and performance analytics.

Rosengarten integrated real-time biometric monitoring during practice and advanced injury-prevention strategies tailored to NFL demands. His work helped shape new data applications focused on injury forecasting and personalized athlete development.

In 2020, Rosengarten presented his concepts on athlete management and injury prevention to the NFL Physician Society at the annual NFL Scouting Combine.

Before joining the Ravens, Rosengarten led the Buffalo Sabres’ injury-prevention program for two seasons. He also consulted for the NBA’s New York Knicks and Oklahoma City Thunder, as well as England’s Lawn Tennis Association.

Originally from Melbourne, Australia, Rosengarten is a board-certified physical therapist and certified strength and conditioning specialist. He has published research in the British Journal of Sports Medicine and the Journal of Science and Medicine in Sport and has presented at major international conferences, including the International Olympic Committee’s World Conference on the Prevention of Illness and Injury in Sport.

John Harbaugh Builds Giants Staff With Ravens Ties

Harbaugh’s new Giants staff includes several former Ravens assistants. Fourteen coaches previously worked under him in Baltimore, including Dennard Wilson, Chris Horton, Megan Rosburg, Brendan Clark, Donald D’Alesio, Brian Ellis, Dennis Johnson, Matt Pees, Noah Riley, Greg Roman, Adam Schrack, Ron Shrift, Willie Taggart and T.J. Weist.

Wilson will serve as defensive coordinator, Horton as special teams coordinator and assistant head coach, and Matt Nagy as offensive coordinator.

The Giants also retained three position coaches from the previous staff: Charlie Bullen, Tim Kelly and Chad Hall.

“All the coaches that we retained are great coaches, great guys, highly recommended from the people here in the building, but also around the league,” Harbaugh said. “It could have been more. I mean, there’s a lot of great coaches on this staff previously, guys that we have great respect for, but you also want to bring in new guys and guys that you’ve known over the years. So, you just try to kind of create the best mix to build the best team of coaches that you possibly can. I just really feel fortunate and blessed that those three guys are still with us.”

Harbaugh emphasized the importance of Megan Rosburg, who worked as an assistant to the head coach in Baltimore and had her title officially changed to defensive assistant in 2024.

“Megan Rosburg, our most valuable coach, definitely our most valuable coach right now,” Harbaugh said. “She’s been doing a great job of keeping me organized and also she understands the tenor of what we’re trying to accomplish. She knows the value system right now. She knows what we’re looking for, and she sets a good foundation for us.”
