NATCHEZ — The Miss-Lou Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame will have its 43rd Annual Scholastic Awards Banquet on Tuesday, Feb. 24, at 7 p.m. at the Father David O’Connor Family Life Center on Main Street.
The senior scholar athletes who will be honored and awarded scholarships are as follows, in school alphabetical order: Adams County Christian School – James Duncan Craft; Cathedral High School – Michael Randolph Wimberly III; Delta Charter School – Adrian “Chase” Evans; Ferriday High School – Desmen Jefferson; Natchez High School (Natchez Early College) – Christian Jarell Harris; and Vidalia High School – Cory Zane Reid.
The junior high/middle school athletes who will be honored are as follows: Adams County Christian School – Thomas “Tucker” Hawley; Cathedral Middle School – Austin Jex; Delta Charter Junior High – Ian Coldiron; Ferriday Junior High – JeCaryous Norman; Natchez Middle School – Kyren Baldwin; and Vidalia Junior High – Gabe Rylen Thompson.
The scholar athletes are selected based on their academy performance, their football athletic achievements; their achievement in other sports, and extra-curricular activities, including school, community, and church.
Freddie Sandel, president of the Miss-Lou Chapter, said “The Miss-Lou Chapter will award a total of $10,000 to the senior scholar athletes based on their achievement, as stated above. The junior high/middle school athletes will be recognized and will receive a plaque for the achievements.
