It’s never been a secret that the Cleveland Browns have had quite a few starting quarterbacks over the past 25 years, and they’re still somehow searching for “the guy”. There’s some semblance of hope that Shedeur Sanders can make a huge leap in year two and that he’ll be the team’s savior, but that developmental jump hasn’t happened often in Northeast Ohio.

14 of them have been drafted by or put on a Cleveland helmet at some point in their NFL careers, and it’s crazy to think about how many collegiate playmakers couldn’t make it work for the Browns.

Here’s the list of Cleveland quarterbacks on the top 100 list:

No.88 Bailey Zappe (2024-2026) – FA signing

No.87 Shedeur Sanders (2025-present) – Drafted

No.80 Brandon Weeden (2012-2013) – Drafted

No.60 Kenny Pickett (2025) – Trade

No.53 Brady Quinn (2007-2009) – Drafted

No.43 Ken Dorsey (2006-2008) – Trade

No.28 Case Keenum (2020-2021) – FA signing

No.25 Dillon Gabriel (2025-present) – Drafted

No.17 Jameis Winston (2024-2025) – FA signing

No.13 Johnny Manziel (2014-2015) – Drafted

No.12 Colt McCoy (2010-2012) – Drafted

No.10 Robert Griffin III (2016-2017) – FA signing

No.6 Deshaun Watson (2022-present) – Trade

No.1 Baker Mayfield (2018-2021) – Drafted

The fact that the Browns have had so many of these guys over the past 25 years and still couldn’t make one work for more than two years is beyond frustrating. On the bright side, and something really cool is that all three of their currently rostered quarterbacks made the cut.

Here’s to hoping that Todd Monken and Co. can turn Shedeur Sanders into something going forward, because we all know how fans feel about Deshaun Watson.
