One area the Tennessee Titans have addressed during this offseason has been their pass rush, especially off the edge. During the overhaul, the Titans moved on from edge Harold Landry and replaced him with Dre’Mont Jones, Lorenzo Carter, and rookie Oluwafemi Oladejo to help increase the edge pressure in 2025.
One player who consistently applies pressure on the quarterback is defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons. Simmons flashes elite skills along the interior and is a handful for offenses. Unfortunately, his sack totals never match the amount of pressure he provides up the middle. Simmons has 31.5 career sacks over his six seasons, even though he lives in the opposing backfield.
That could change in 2025. If you follow Simmons on social media, you already know he’s made it known that he intends to turn pressures into sacks this coming season.
In response to that post by Benjamin Hodge showing Simmons in action with a video of all of his pressures from 2024, Simmons responded with “Turning these pressures into sacks this year!! #DBLDIGITS”
With interior running mate T’Vondre Sweat poised to make a bigger impact in 2025 and a change on the edge, Simmons could be headed toward a career season in sacks, besting his 8.5 during the 2021 season. That is something both fans and the organization would love to see.
