Former members of the Tennessee Titans continue to pop up on social media and podcasts, sharing their thoughts on the Titans’ future, opening up about their experiences in the league, and reflecting on the past.
Former Titans tight end Delanie Walker recently joined Sterling Holmes of FanSided to discuss a multitude of topics, including his personal Mount Rushmore of tight ends, and it included a few surprises.

“Let’s see. John Mackey. Obviously, John Mackey got to be on there. John Mackey was the first tight end to be a tight end like us. This new era (of) tight end. He was a receiving tight end.” Walker said. “Uh, man, I’m going to have to go — I got to go, Shannon Sharpe, man. I got to go Shannon Sharpe on there.
“When I was a kid, I didn’t want to be a tight end, but when I saw Shannon Sharpe, I’m like if any if I was ever a tight end, I would be like Shannon Sharpe. Fast, make moves, catch, explosive.”
Walker continued, “Um, Tony Gonzalez. Yeah, you’ve got to go Tony Gonzalez. Who else would I put in there right now?”
And then added a bit of a surprise to round out his fourth, “Oh, let’s go. Jeremy Shockey. I like Jeremy Shockey. Like, I know Jeremy Shockey was a bad boy in there, but I like that bad boy mentality. That blonde hair. Just a dog out there. Man.”

Walker, a 3-time Pro Bowler and 14-year NFL veteran, also mentioned current Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce as another potential candidate before discussing retirement, but didn’t have him on the initial monument.
