Market value projections show New England Patriots tight end Austin Hooper to be a less valuable player in 2026.

Hooper signed a one-year, $5 million deal with the Patriots in 2025. That usurped the one-year, $3.1 million contract he signed with New England in 2024. From 2020-23, Hooper was paid handsomely. The 31-year-old agreed to a four-year, $42 million deal to join the Cleveland Browns in 2020. Hooper signed two subsequent one-year deals with the Tennessee Titans in 2022, followed by the Las Vegas Raiders in 2023 after being released by the Browns in 2022. Now, he’s in line to be an unrestricted free agent this winter.

Spotrac currently has Hooper’s market value estimated at $2.4 million annually. That is less than half of what he earned on his one-year deal last year.

Hooper’s receiving yards went from 476 in 2024 to 263 in 2025. The Stanford product also scored three touchdowns in 2024 compared to two last season.

With a decreased workload last season, the Patriots felt it necessary to throw the ball Hooper’s way 33 fewer times in 2025 (26) than they did in 2024 (59). His diminished productivity has contributed to his lower valuation.
