With the United Football League set to kick off the 2026 season this coming weekend, all eight teams recently unveiled new uniforms, which are manufactured by New Era and feature an advertisement for NOBULL on the shoulder.
The league features four returning franchises, including the Birmingham Stallions, Dallas Renegades, D.C. Defenders and St. Louis Battlehawks; three relocated franchises in the Columbus Aviators, Louisville Kings and Orlando Storm; and one franchise that reverted back to its original USFL name in the Houston Gamblers, who adopted the Roughnecks’ name and logo after the league merged with the XFL in 2024.
The Aviators, Kings and Storm replace the Memphis Showboats, Michigan Panthers and San Antonio Brahmas, though each will act as an expansion franchise rather than continue to legacy of the Showboats and Panthers, who were originally part of the USFL, or the Brahmas, who were members of the XFL.
With that said, let’s take a team-by-team look at the new uniforms across the UFL…
Birmingham Stallions
The three-time spring football champions have ditched their familiar gold helmets for garnet lids with their primary logo on both sides, a garnet facemask and a truncated gold stripe down the center.
The gold home uniforms prominently display a “Stallions” wordmark across the chest while the white road uniforms place “Birmingham” at the forefront of the design, which includes a custom number font and chevron-style stripes on the shoulders.
“A uniform empowers a player, and the Stallions’ new uniforms will command a new era, a new season – one where we are ready to regain a championship for Birmingham,” head coach and former Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron said.
Columbus Aviators
The Aviators’ inaugural uniforms naturally lean into Ohio’s status as the “Birthplace of Aviation” with wing-like stripes in the sleeves and drop-shadow numbers on the navy blue home and white road uniforms that bring to mind tail numbers on aircraft.
The light blue helmets display the Aviators’ primary logo – an interlocking “CA” with wings and an aircraft propeller – on the sides alongside red and navy blue accents, which are mostly a nod to the Ohio state flag but also match the NHL’s Columbus Blue Jackets.
“The uniform reflects the Aviators’ spirit to challenge, innovate and conquer the unimaginable,” the team said in a press release. “Designed for a fearless, ambitious, and boundless team, the uniform embodies a squadron rising above all obstacles, pushing boundaries, and blazing forward with intensity from every angle.”
Dallas Renegades
The Renegades are moving from Choctaw Stadium, the former home of MLB’s Texas Rangers, to Toyota Stadium in Frisco, home of MLS club FC Dallas, and have changed their location back to Dallas after playing the last three seasons under the Arlington moniker.
They’ve maintained their light blue, black and red color scheme but have switched to a black helmet, which features their primary logo on the sides and the same striping pattern down the center as the sleeves and pants of the light blue home and white road uniforms.
“Our new uniforms represent exactly who we are and where we’re headed,” head coach Rick Neuheisel said. “They honor the toughness and identity this team has built since day one, but they also signal a new era in Frisco. The bright blue, the bold red accents and that all-black helmet bring an edge and intensity that matches how we plan to play – fast, physical and fearless.”
D.C. Defenders
The defending league champions have largely kept their look intact, with red horn and white road uniforms that feature the three stars and two bars from the Washington D.C. flag on the sleeves and down the sides of the pants.
However, their white helmets and shoulders of their white road jerseys no longer feature a subtle camouflage pattern, while the jersey numbers now include a silver outline rather than silver streak through each digit.
“Every thread, every stripe, and every detail of these uniforms was designed to embody what it means to play for DC,” head coach Shannon Harris said. “Our players wear more than a uniform – they wear the grit, courage, and pride of the city.”
Houston Gamblers
As mentioned, the Gamblers played the last two seasons as the Roughnecks but return to their original USFL name and color scheme. Their logo also closely resembles their previous mark, though it’s a stylized “G” with a star inside of a Texas outline, whereas their prior design was a “G” with the state outline in the negative space.
The new logo’s sleek design is carried over to the numbers of the all-black home and white road uniforms, which feature a poker chip-inspired secondary logo on the sleeves and red, yellow and black stripes down the sides of the pants that include a sublimated spade pattern.
“(The uniforms) capture the swagger, toughness and resilience of Houston while honoring the proud history of the Gamblers,” head coach Kevin Sumlin said. “The reimagined logo and spade detail reflect confidence, high stakes and a mindset that we’re all in every time we take the field.”
Louisville Kings
The Kings are honoring Kentucky’s rich history of horse racing and Louisville’s namesake, Louis XVI, with their name and logo, while their dark green home and silver road uniforms feature a fleur-de-lis and diamond pattern on the sleeves and pants to further connect the city.
The numbers and pattern on the sleeves and pants are also rendered in lime green, matching their logo and creating a stark contrast against the dark green and uniforms, which will both be worn with dark green helmets that display the logo on the sides.
“The Kings’ new uniforms embody the power and determination that our team will take to the field,” head coach Chris Redman said. “We proudly play for Louisville, and our new uniforms are a great nod to our city, rich in culture and nobility.”
Orlando Storm
The Storm have naturally used the shape of the hurricane symbol in their primary logo to create a unique sleeve design on their black home and white road uniforms, which will both be paired with black helmets that feature their primary logo.
The uniforms include orange or purple numbers and accents as a nod to the citrus industry, county that Orlando is located in and the seats in their new venue, Inter&Co Stadium, home of MLS club Orlando City SC.
“Rooted in the club’s founding identity, the uniform reflects the eerie feeling of the calm before impact and the unstoppable force that follows,” the team said in a press release. “Designed to embody power, intensity, and controlled chaos, the complete look represents a team built to strike from every angle.”
St. Louis Battlehawks
Lastly, the Battlehawks carried forward pieces of their previous design with wings on their helmets, as well as their royal blue home and silver road looks. However, their helmets are now a darker shade of gray and feature a more streamlined wing design than years past.
The Gateway Arch is also more pronounced on the sleeves, which now in include their primary logo instead of numbers, while their stenciled digits have a silver outline, “introducing a modernized design that builds on the franchise’s most recognizable elements while reinforcing the team’s connection to the city.”
With that, the 2026 season begins on Friday night with the Kings hosting the Stallions at 8 p.m. ET on FOX, while Saturday’s lineup features the Defenders at Battlehawks (12 p.m. ET on ESPN), Gamblers at Renegades (4 p.m. ET on FOX) and Aviators at Storm (8 p.m. ET on ESPN).
