Since arriving in Dallas as a third-round pick in 2021, defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa has defined himself through consistency. On the field, he’s been a durable anchor for the Cowboys’ interior, appearing in every single regular-season game for four consecutive years. Off the field, however, Odighizuwa is building a legacy that carries even more weight.
On Saturday, April 18, Odighizuwa’s non-profit, the Odighizuwa Foundation, will host the 2nd Annual Odighizuwa Foundation Gala at the Omni Frisco Hotel at The Star. Running from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, the evening is dedicated to raising funds and awareness for a cause deeply personal to the UCLA product: empowering single-parent families.
A Mission Rooted in Experience
The Odighizuwa Foundation’s focus isn’t a random choice of philanthropy. Osa and his brothers were raised by their mother, Abieyuwa, who moved the family to Portland, Oregon, to start over as a single parent following a family tragedy. That firsthand understanding of the “unique emotional toll” and financial hurdles faced by single parents drives the foundation’s initiatives.
“It is our vision as an organization to create this incredible community in which single parents can thrive with and for their beautiful children,” the foundation’s mission statement reads.

The foundation provides a wide range of support, from technology access and educational scholarships to mentorship programs and community peer groups. Odighizuwa’s commitment to the DFW community was further recognized last season when he was named a Week 2 NFLPA Community MVP after hosting a baby shower for 20 local single mothers.

As the Cowboys head into the 2026 offseason, Odighizuwa continues to prove that his impact at The Star extends far beyond the stat sheet. By bridging the gap for single-parent households, he’s helping ensure that the next generation of Dallas families has the foundation they need to succeed.
