Yes, even after going 14-3 and securing the AFC’s No. 1 playoff seed last season, the Denver Broncos still have some big needs going into the 2026 NFL offseason.
The club arguably has four pressing needs, including three on offense. Denver could also use more long-term options and current depth at five other positions. Here’s a quick recap, starting with what we consider the top needs.

Broncos‘ big needs: Running back, wide receiver, tight end and inside linebacker. J.K. Dobbins is set to become a free agent in March. Meanwhile, the Broncos do not have an elite difference-maker at WR or TE, and the club desperately needs a cover linebacker. Justin Strnad and Alex Singleton are also about to hit free agency.
Broncos’ long-term/depth needs: defensive line, safety, guard/OL, cornerback and third-string quarterback. DL John Franklin-Myers and DB P.J. Locke are about to hit free agency, Ben Powers might not be the long-term solution at G, CB Ja’Quan McMillian will be a restricted free agent in March, and QB3 Sam Ehlinger is about to hit the open market.
