3. City of Buffalo moves closer to full property tax exemption for certain veterans
The Buffalo Common Council passed a resolution this week which would provide a full tax exemption for veterans with a “100% permanent and total disability” related to active military service.
4. Study recommends new 400-room hotel be built in downtown Buffalo
A new hospitality study released by Visit Buffalo recommends that a new 400-room hotel should be built downtown. The study says that a full service convention center is vital to the region’s growth as a host of meetings and conventions.
5. Steel Leaf Brewing Company to close at end of February
Steel Leaf Brewing has announced plans to close its doors at the end of this month. The brewery, located at 1488 Hertel Ave., will close on Feb. 28.
6. Buffalo Bills unveil new inaugural Highmark Stadium logo
The Buffalo Bills have unveiled the logo for their inaugural season at the new Highmark Stadium, which is set to open in the fall. The logo will be patched onto the team’s jerseys worn in the first home game of the 2026 season.Â
