Kellen Moore’s first year as New Orleans Saints head coach was tough sledding, finishing 6-11, but there were a few positives.
One was rookie Tyler Shough.Â
After a tough start to the year, Shough and the Saints would find form late, winning four of their last five games to head into the offseason with some momentum.
And for veteran defensive end Cam Jordan, he hopes Shough can become the franchise quarterback New Orleans needs.
“I’m hoping so,” Jordan said via TMZ Sports. “I think with him there could be a bright future. Hopefully, we continue to build upon that process that we showed last year.”

Second-year leap coming from Shough?
With another full offseason to work with Moore’s offensive system, there is every reason to think Shough could continue on his upward trajectory.
His rookie season saw him finish with a 5-4 record, throwing for 2,384 yards, 10 TDs, and six interceptions, so decent, but not great.
Now, as the offseason approaches, the Saints have to try to put good pieces around him to allow Shough to flourish.
If they can do that and Shough continues to improve, maybe the Saints will be destined to win more than six games in 2026. And in the process, find their franchise quarterback of the future.
