INDIANAPOLIS – The Broncos are bringing in another former quarterback to help work with Bo Nix and others.

A source said Tuesday at the NFL scouting combine that Denver will hire former Iowa State quarterback Kyle Kempt as an offensive assistant. He spent 2025 as Drake’s offensive coordinator.

Kempt will work under Denver head coach Sean Payton and recently named offensive coordinator Davis Webb, both former NFL quarterbacks. Webb was Denver’s quarterbacks coach the past three seasons.

Kempt played at Iowa State from 2016-18. That included a strong 2017 season in which he completed 66.3% of his passes with 1,787 yards, 15 touchdowns and three interceptions.

Kempt was an Iowa State assistant from 2019-24 before spending one season at Drake.
