Throughout his career so far in Cincinnati, Joe Burrow has not been shy about voicing what he believes the Bengals need to be perennial Super Bowl contenders.
After the Bengals‘ regular-season finale defeat against the Cleveland Browns in early January, he called this offseason “as big as it can get,” and the free agency period was one he deemed “paramount.”

But he hasn’t stopped there, according to Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic. Dehner explained what Burrow is doing behind the scenes on a recent episode of The Growler.
“He’s changed the way they’ve made decisions around here in recent years,” Dehner said of Burrow. “And his lack of happiness, whether he says it’s cause he had a bad day at a press conference or not, has a major influence inside the building. He called this free agency ‘paramount.
“He’s certainly done more than just lay the groundwork on, ‘If I’m not happy here, I don’t plan on staying here.‘”
It sounds like Burrow has done some hard campaigning without it all making headlines. The headlines will come in two weeks when the legal tampering period starts for free agency.
If the Bengals come out swinging, then the Bengals’ front office will show they are backing up their words and honoring Burrow’s opinion.
The opposite? Well, good luck with that.
