For Philadelphia Eagles fans, it’s simply a state of mock draft delirium these days. With the NFL combine set to commence, countless draft weekend scenarios are being churned out at a breakneck speed.
An interesting one surfaced on Pro Football Focus, providing a three-round breakdown in which the Eagles land early help at cornerback, edge, tight end, and, surprisingly, running back as well.
PFF’s Dalton Wasserman envisions Eagles general manager Howie Roseman going the corner route in round one, selecting a Gamecock who could make waves from the jump.
23. Philadelphia Eagles: CB Brandon Cisse, South Carolina
“Philadelphia’s outside cornerback position, aside from Quinyon Mitchell, was a problem this past season. South Carolina’s Brandon Cisse possesses the requisite tools to potentially solve that problem. He earned at least a 74.1 PFF overall grade in each of the past two seasons while tallying 10 pass breakups in that span.”
Cisse is an incredibly talented prospect, one who’s been previously discussed here as an intriguing potential fit alongside Mitchell and Cooper DeJean at corner.
Wasserman sees the Birds landing help at edge rusher in Round 2, selecting a First-Team All-Big 12 pass-rushing menace.
54. Philadelphia Eagles: EDGE Romello Height, Texas Tech
Height could be a great value at this spot, with one of the quickest first steps in this entire draft class fueling a motor that pumped out 16.5 sacks at the collegiate level. He’s a wrecking ball off the edge.
And once the third round comes into focus, Wasserman suggests Philadelphia opts for a pair of Big Ten offensive standouts:
68. Philadelphia Eagles (via NYJ): TE Max Klare, Ohio State
Klare is another intriguing prospect who has garnered plenty of speculation, and he would provide Hurts with a new target – and perhaps a replacement for Goedert should he leave. The athletic Buckeye tight end brings sure hands and considerable versatility to the table.
While this trio of prospects each make a ton of sense, the fourth rookie who Wasserman mocks to Philadelphia rates high on the nostalgia scale, but low from both a personnel and needs perspective.
98. Philadelphia Eagles. RB Nicholas Singleton, Penn State
Should the Eagles opt to stay in-state late in the third round with another Nittany Lion, it would grow the talented running back stable to four. Saquon Barkley is firmly entrenched, Tank Bigsby remains under contract fresh off a promising season, and Will Shipley rounds out the current group as another young, solid running back on the roster. Adding the Shillington, Pennsylvania native Singleton would be a surprise, for sure.

With plenty of unanticipated moves bound to occur on draft weekend, anything can happen. But the odds appear incredibly likely that Roseman and company look to land an offensive lineman in the early stages of this coming draft.
