The Pittsburgh Steelers received a promising injury update regarding safety DeShon Elliott, courtesy of general manager Omar Khan at the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine.

Speaking with reporters at the event, Khan made it clear that Elliott, who suffered a hyperextended knee injury, should be at 100 percent for the 2026 season.

“I’m looking forward to DeShon just being DeShon,” Khan said on Tuesday. “He’s really a good football player, and he’s working hard. And right now everything’s on schedule is my understanding. And once we get to opening day, I don’t think there will be any limitations.”

With around 13 minutes left in the third quarter of a Week 8 matchup between the Steelers and the Green Bay Packers, Elliott was rolled up on by fellow Steelers safety Juan Thornhill and tight end Tucker Kraft during a tackle attempt gone wrong, resulting in his season-ending knee injury.

Elliott’s return couldn’t have come at a better time, however, as Steelers safeties Kyle Dugger and Chuck Clark are set to become free agents in March.”
