It’s hard to fully know how to describe this play. Late in the first half of a “Sunday Night Football” win over the Commanders, Nix tried to step up out of the pocket and sprint to his right when he was grabbed by a Commanders defender. Nix, though, somehow kept the play alive. As he was falling, he flung a pass through traffic to Sutton for a score. Replays showed Nix was somehow able to keep his shin and knee off the ground before he released the throw, which gave Denver a halftime lead. In a season in which Nix threw or rushed for 33 total touchdowns, this was was easily the most physically impressive play.
