The Carolina Panthers are in the market to upgrade their pass rush this offseason, and they have a particular target in mind after he was recently released by the Miami Dolphins.
According to Panthers GM Dan Morgan, Carolina is looking at potentially adding Bradley Chubb in free agency this offseason. Chubb, who just finished his eighth season at the NFL level, was released by the Dolphins just over a week ago after spending the last 3.5 seasons with the franchise. He started all 17 games for Miami last season, recording 47 tackles and 8.5 sacks.
During Morgan’s press conference at the NFL Scouting Combine, the possibility of adding Chubb was raised, with Morgan indicating significant interest on behalf of the Panthers.
“I don’t think anything is going to be off the table,” Morgan said. “We’ll explore that, we’ll talk to his agent, but I wouldn’t say anything’s upcoming, but we’ll definitely stay on that, and we’ll see where that goes.”
Morgan also added that he believes Chubb is “still playing at a really good level.” This is important after Chubb missed the 2024 season with an ACL injury. Chubb, who was the fifth overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, has been selected to two Pro Bowls and has recorded 48 sacks over the course of his NFL career.
