NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported that Chicago Bears linebacker Tremaine Edmunds has been granted permission by the team to seek a trade.
Edmunds will enter his ninth season in the league, and fourth with the Bears. The 27-year-old has one year left on his deal in Chicago, which carries a $17.4 million cap and no guaranteed salary.

Last season, Edmunds totaled 112 tackles, had 4 interceptions, and one sack in 13 appearances.
Edmunds was drafted out of Virginia Tech as the 16th overall pick in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He has been consistent with his health every year, playing almost every game during his time in the NFL. He has had over 100 sacks every season.
He is better known as a tackler and disruptor at the linebacker position, but has tallied 8.5 sacks over his career, along with 14 interceptions and 4 forced fumbles.
Edmunds will have no problem garnering interest from other teams who could use the services of a very athletic linebacker who is always around the football.
