SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) – Notre Dame is adding Aaron Henry to its coaching staff as co-defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach ahead of spring practice, which opens next month.
Henry comes to Notre Dame with more than 10 years of college football coaching experience. Most recently, he served in the same role at Illinois for the past three seasons.
Henry is joining a defensive staff that has already seen significant success under the program’s current leadership.
“Marcus Freeman, Chris Ash, they’ve created a really good meal right? And on that plate it’s unbelievable,” Henry said. “If I can just add a pinch of my little bit of flavor to that already incredible plate, I think we can help elevate this thing. Push it to heights that they’ve been able to accomplish over the course of this school’s tenure and I’m just here to add some flavor. I’m just here to help these young men grow in every aspect of their lives.”
Notre Dame’s 2026 Blue-Gold Game is scheduled for Saturday, April 25, at Notre Dame Stadium.
