One of the standout quarterbacks on the free agent market this offseason is Malik Willis of the Green Bay Packers.

Several teams may be eyeing Willis, especially considering that this year’s quarterback free agent class and draft pool are not particularly strong. He could end up with a team on the verge of reaching the Super Bowl, or he might head to a rebuilding franchise like a few teams in the AFC East. However, according to Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox, the Miami Dolphins could be an excellent landing spot for Willis.

“Miami doesn’t have the impressive offensive cast it once did, but it does have legitimate playmakers in Jaylen Waddle and De’Von Achane,” Knox wrote on Thursday. “It also has an offensive coordinator in Bobby Slowik who comes from the Shanahan tree and has had some recent success with young quarterbacks.

“Things didn’t go as well in 2024, and Slowik was fired after that season. However, he helped then-rookie C.J. Stroud have an impressive campaign that culminated with an AFC South title and Offensive Rookie of the Year honors.”

Willis has some connections with the Dolphins, as former Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley is now the head coach, and Jon-Eric Sullivan, who previously served as the Packers’ vice president of player personnel, is now the general manager.

Whichever team signs Willis will be taking on significant risk, since he has only started six games over four seasons.
