PROVO, Utah – Former BYU football linebacker Jack Kelly took part in drills at the 2026 NFL Combine in Indianapolis.
Kelly was part of the first day of on-field drills for position groups, and the Kearns, Utah native put up strong numbers.
His final official 40-yard dash time from Thursday was 4.57. Kelly initially ran an unofficial 4.60 40, then improved his time on the second run, unofficially clocked at 4.58, and closed at 4.57.

It’s the eighth-fastest 40-yard dash among linebackers who ran on Thursday. The fastest time was from an Ohio State linebacker, Sonny Styles, who ran a 4.46.
Kelly was also tied for third among linebackers with a broad jump of 10-feet, five-inches.
The highlight showing from Kelly was in the 20-yard shuttle, where he finished with a time of 4.19 seconds. That was tied for the best time with fellow Big 12 linebacker, former Texas Tech star Jacob Rodriguez.
The 6-foot-2, 240-pound Kelly displayed excellent closing speed during his time at BYU. He posted 10 sacks in his senior year with the Cougars, being a key piece to a defense that was among the best in the Big 12 last season and finished with a 12-2 record.
Other notables from Kelly’s week in Indianapolis include his arm measurement at 31 1/8″ and hand size at 9 1/8″.
Based on Kelly’s measurables and the results he posted at the NFL Combine, Kelly’s RAS (Relative Athletic Score) is a 9.81 out of 10. That ranks him as the 57th-best linebacker prospect out of 3,216 players from 1987 to 2026.

Kelly finished with 106 tackles, 23.5 tackles for loss, 15 sacks, and one interception during his two seasons at BYU.
