INDIANAPOLIS – After a strong offensive season by the Cowboys in 2025, offensive coordinator Klayton Adams became a name other teams wanted to speak with. One problem: The Philadelphia Eagles called to interview Adams and make him their offensive coordinator with playcalling duties.
Coach Brian Schottenheimer said nope. Now Schottenheimer is going to continue calling offensive plays, but Adams isn’t going anywhere.
“Klayton’s the best,” Schottenheimer said Thursday from the NFL scouting combine. “I love Klayon. It was funny because when (Eagles coach) Nick (Sirianni) called me, there’s different ways you can do it. You can send in slips and different things like that. Nick, of course, called me. He said, ‘I got a question to ask you. I want to send a letter in for Klayton.’ I said, ‘Uh, don’t bother, buddy. I’m going to have to deny you on that one.’”
Last season, the Cowboys had the seventh-best offense in the NFL and produced two 1,000-plus yard receivers, a 1,000-yard rusher and a quarterback with over 4,000 passing yards.
