Earlier in the week, Titans head coach Robert Saleh and General Manager Mike Borgonzi both talked glowingly about Love, and his potential.

Love, by the way, confirmed on Friday he’s met with the Titans here at the NFL Combine.

“Shoot, I just had a year with Christian McCaffrey,” Saleh said of the 49ers back. “I think he had over 400 touches. So, if they are three down players and they can impact the game and they can create mismatches out on the perimeter as well as run the ball the way they do. Guys like Jahmyr Gibbs, Christian, I’m sure there’s a few more. They’re tremendous assets to the football team.”

Borgonzi also said there are similarities between Gibbs and Love, who has speed, and the capability of playing three downs.

“Any time you can get a running back like that, especially a three-down running back, that can play in the pass game as well and be able to take over a game,” Borgonzi said. “You’ve seen guys in the league now that can do that. Gibbs is an example in Detroit that can run in between the tackles. He can—he’s a game changer, and you can line him up outside, you can use him as a receiver. And I think this guy in the draft, Jeremiyah does that as well … It’s the speed and the ability to play on three downs, what you see with those players and they’re tough.”

In 2025, Love ran for 1,372 yards and 18 touchdowns en route to being named a finalist for the Heisman Trophy, won by Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza. Love, who also tallied 27 catches for 280 yards and three touchdowns last year, was also named a unanimous All-American and won the Doak Walker Award as the best running back in the nation.

Love said he’s a three-down back who can help in many ways. He said he wants to be used as a weapon.

“I can do it all,” Love said. “I can receive, I can block, I can run. You name it and I am willing to do anything for a team to have success. Running backs are very valuable. I feel like that is being more and more recognized as of today. Kenneth Walker in the Super Bowl, being MVP. I feel like running backs like him continue to pave the way for guys that are just coming into the league or are already in the league. It’s just making a bigger name for running backs.”

NFL Network’s Daniel Jeremiah also thinks Love might be the best player in the draft. Jeremiah has Love second in his rankings, behind Mendoza. Jeremiah told SI’s Albert Breer his grade on the Irish star was higher than his pre-draft grade on Zeke Elliott, lower than Barkley’s and similar to McCaffrey’s.

Love, speaking on Friday at the NFL Combine, is ready to prove his worth during the NFL Draft process.

Could he convince the Titans to take a running back with their first pick?

The team currently has running backs Tony Pollard, Tyjae Spears, and Kalel Mullings under contract, while Julius Chestnut is scheduled to become a free agent.

Love said he’ll be ready wherever he goes.

“I am willing to do anything for an organization to have success,” Love said. “I will put my body on the line, and you will get my full undivided attention and effort as a football player. (The team that picks me) will get the best out of me. We’re going to win some Super Bowls.”
