The Miami Dolphins had a solid ground attack in 2025, as they rushed for 120.2 yards per game, which was good for 12th in the NFL last season.
Heading into this offseason, the Dolphins are set to lose Alexander Mattison, who will be an unrestricted free agent when the new league year starts. However, that still leaves them with a strong group of running back that includes De’Von Achane, Jaylen Wright, Ollie Gordon II and Donovan Edwards.
With those four, Miami probably won’t be making a splash signing in free agency this offseason, but with Achane entering the final year of his rookie deal, stranger things have happened.
Before free agency opens up, let’s take a look at the group of running backs that are set to hit the market this year and what type of free agency they’ll be hitting.

It’s much more likely that the Dolphins will sign a depth player at the position, so it may be a good idea to keep an on guys like Zamir White, Antonio Gibson and Khalil Herbert than the big name prizes at the top of the market like Kenneth Walker III or Breece Hall.
Miami doesn’t necessarily need to add another running back, but it’s good for fans to be prepared for who could be joining their team, especially at an important position.
