The Raiders are expected to add a wide receiver or two in the offseason, and some have brought up the idea of Las Vegas trading for an established player like Brian Thomas Jr. or George Pickens.

Thomas was linked to the Raiders in an ESPN column this week, but it was more of a speculative piece than a report. To this point, there hasn’t been any indication Thomas is the on the radar in Vegas.

As for Pickens, the Cowboys placed the franchise tag on Pickens on Friday, and the belief is that they would be willing to trade him for the right price. Pickens had a career year in 2025 (93 receptions, 1,429 receiving yards and 9 touchdowns) but has not been a great locker room presence over the course of his four-year NFL career.

From a talent standpoint, Pickens would be a great fit for the Raiders, but Raider Nation Radio host Q Myers doesn’t think the fit in Las Vegas would be good.

Myers has been adamant for a while that the Raiders should stay away from Pickens, and he shared one of the reasons why on Thursday.

“George Pickens, I wouldn’t give him money if it had to save my life,” Myers said on the Locked on Raiders Squad Show podcast.

“Look, this dude got fined how many times when he was in Pittsburgh? How many times did he get fined while he was in Dallas? He was getting fined so many times and there was a time, and I know this for a fact, that he showed up to a game, not practice, like [Allen Iverson], not practice, a game, 30 minutes before the game and they didn’t know if he was going to be available or not.”

“Thirty minutes before kickoff, he showed up and they left him active because they didn’t know if he was injured, if he was going to show up, but they wanted him to play. So 30 minutes before the kickoff, all of a sudden, he arrives and goes out there and plays and did not have a good game. Shocking. But I would not give George Pickens money to save my life.”

The Raiders may make a move for a wide receiver in free agency or by way of a trade, but despite having more than $100 million in cap room (by the time free agency rolls around) it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Tom Brady and company stay away from heavy investments in veteran players.

There may be a few exceptions to that approach, but more than $30 million and a premium draft pick for a player like Pickens probably won’t be happening this offseason.
