New England Patriots linebacker Jack Gibbens is slated for restricted free agency this offseason.

Gibbens made the most of his playing time in 2025. The 27-year-old started in eight of the 17 games that he played for the Patriots last season. He produced eight tackles for loss, four passes defended, as well as three quarterback hits for New England. Gibbens contributed to New England’s linebacker unit that yielded demonstrable results for their pass rush in the regular season, as well as the postseason.

He will be free to listen to offers from teams in the open market in free agency. He has three accrued seasons for his career, which establishes his status as an RFA. The Patriots will have the opportunity to match any offer sheet that Gibbens signs later in the offseason.

The Minnesota product signed a three-year, $2.5 million rookie deal with the Tennessee Titans in 2022. After being released by Tennessee on August 30, 2022, the Titans re-signed Gibbens to a one-year, $705,000 deal later that year. He signed a one-year, $985,000 deal with the Titans as an exclusive rights free agent in 2024.

Gibbens’ most recent deal was the one-year, $1.3 million deal he signed with the Patriots as a free agent in 2025.
