Josh Allen is the overwhelming favorite to win the 2026-27 NFL MVP award per BetOnline, sitting at +650 despite Buffalo Bills offseason uncertainty

Despite a turbulent offseason, Josh Allen is still the NFL MVP favorite.

It’s been a wild couple of months for Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills. A heartbreaking playoff loss, a coaching overhaul, and a whole lot of offseason drama. But Josh Allen did receive some good news this week, as a recent report showed Allen as the most popular player in the NFL. He’s the third-place MVP finisher from a season ago, and now he’s the overwhelming odds-on favorite to win the 2026–27 NFL MVP award. There are plenty of NFL offseason questions swirling about whether Buffalo will finally give him the weapons to get there again after he won the award in 2024.

Allen finished third in 2025 MVP voting with 91 points and 2 first-place votes, behind Matthew Stafford (366 points) and Drake Maye (361 points) in one of the closest MVP races in recent memory.

He did that while throwing for 3,668 yards and 25 touchdowns, rushing for 579 yards and 14 scores, and dragging a receiver-thin roster deep into the postseason. Bills fans will remember the heartbreaker in Denver during the Divisional Round. Despite all of that, Vegas is buying a monster upcoming season from Josh Allen.

Buffalo Bills’ Josh Allen NFL MVP Odds

According to BetOnline, Allen sits at +650 to win the 2026–27 NFL MVP award — comfortably ahead of the field. Here’s how the early MVP board shapes up right now:

These odds fluctuate frequently. Coaching changes, free agency signings, and the NFL Draft will shift the board significantly. The numbers you’re looking at now certainly won’t be the same in three weeks, let alone four months. But right now, even without any additional weapons added to the roster, oddsmakers expect Allen to deliver another elite season.

Buffalo Bills Super Bowl Odds

The Bills are also among the heavy Super Bowl favorites for next season, and new head coach Joe Brady — promoted after Sean McDermott’s firing in January — is already one of the early Coach of the Year candidates heading into his first full campaign at the helm.

Some like to say that Allen has played the part of Superman for this franchise across eight seasons now. James Cook has been a phenomenal sidekick. But it’s painfully clear that the Bills need offensive reinforcements — specifically at wide receiver — if they want Allen’s MVP odds and the Bills’ Super Bowl aspirations to become a reality.

Not many quarterbacks in NFL history have sustained this level of production with this little help on the perimeter. Bills’ GM Brandon Beane put it simply at the combine: “The most important thing outside of Josh Allen is protecting Josh Allen,” and loading up the receiving corps can help protect him with some easy-schemed-up passing plays.

Regardless of all the smoke, the coaching turnover, and the changes happening across the league, the betting market is sending one clear message: Josh Allen is still the guy.
