MADISON – Wisconsin coach Luke Fickell is set to hire a receivers coach.

According to CBS Sports and 247sports, the Badgers will hire Ari Confesor, who most recently worked a fellow with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2025. He replaces Jordan Reid, who left last month to become the assistant quarterbacks coach with the Atlanta Falcons.

Confesor comes to UW with experience as a receivers coach at Wake Forest (2023-24), Air Force (2019-22), Holy Cross (2018) and Rhode Island (2014-17). Prior to Rhode Island, he spent 2013 working in the scouting department of the Kansas City Chiefs.

Last year he worked with the Jacksonville Jaguars during its offseason program in May and June as well as during training camp.

Confesor will take over a critical position group for UW. The Badgers don’t return their top three receivers from last season and don’t have a clear cut go-to receiver going into spring practice, which begins March 19.

Redshirt senior Chris Brooks Jr. is the team’s returning leader in receptions (11) and receiving yards (124). The room also received a boost from the return of sophomore Eugene Hilton Jr. and the addition of five players from the transfer portal.
