Longtime New Orleans Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan will reportedly hit free agency for the first time in his illustrious 15-year NFL career this offseason. It’s still possible, if not likely, that the two sides agree on a new contract, though the Green Bay Packers should monitor the situation closely.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter broke the news, adding that Jordan is “said to be open to leaving New Orleans.” No extension is imminent for the eight-time Pro Bowler, one of the biggest names on the open market — and a prime Packers target.

It’s no secret that Packers superstar pass-rusher Micah Parsons needs a sidekick. Even at his age (turning 37 in July), Jordan certainly fits that bill and may prefer to join a contender like Green Bay.

Jordan is a decorated veteran and a respected locker room leader. He’s a 10-time captain, three-time All-Pro, and member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s 2010s All-Decade team. The only thing missing from his résumé is that elusive Super Bowl victory, making Titletown a destination that could appeal to him.

While the offseason action around the NFL is merely beginning, the Packers are currently among the favorites to win the NFC in 2026. They are well-positioned to make noise in the upcoming year. With that in mind, there are few better landing spots if Jordan wants to chase a ring.

Signs point toward the Packers releasing Rashan Gary, who was supposed to be the Robin to Parsons’ Batman, in the coming weeks and months. Enter Jordan, a more than qualified replacement who continues to produce at a high level, and Green Bay won’t have to break the bank for.

Jordan’s 2025 resurgence suggests there is plenty left in the tank. His goal isn’t to seek “top dollar,” he wants “to be valued,” per TMZ Sports. Well, the Packers would certainly appreciate having him alongside Parsons.

An impressive 10.5 of Jordan’s 132 career sacks, which ranks 17th all-time and second since he entered the league in 2011, came this past season. We saw him tally double-digit quarterback hits (15) and tackles for loss (15) for the first time since 2022. His efforts against the rush yielded a strong 82.1 PFF run-defense grade, good for fourth out of 115 qualified edge players.
