Alex Cappa Becomes A Free Agent

.

Ineffective backup guard play hurt the Bucs last season.

Joe would be just fine never seeing Dangerous Dan Feeney play another game and watching Michael Jordan sign with the Falcons.

Sure, those guys had good moments. So did Charlie Heck, but being a backup offensive lineman is about consistency. And they were all lacking.

The Bucs need better veteran backups on the interior offensive line.

Alex Cappa was the Bucs’ Super Bowl season stud at right guard. Cappa, a Bucs third-round pick in 2018 had a strong 2021 season, then told Tom Brady, ‘no thank, bruh‘ and left for the Bengals in free agency on a fat contract.

A year ago, Cappa went to Brady’s Raiders on a two-year contract but was cut today, per various reports. Locals in Las Vegas say Cappa didn’t play well at guard but actually impressed when pushed into starting duty at center.

Now 31 years old, it appears Cappa has quality, versatile backup written all over him.

This isn’t Joe looking to the past; it’s Joe looking to the future — hopefully one that puts a better backup in the Bucs’ offensive line room.
