The Dallas Cowboys and the NFL world in general are now just 24 hours away from the unofficial start of free agency. The legal tampering window opens on Monday, which will give all 32 clubs the opportunity to publicly reveal what they’ve been working on since the scouting combine. Teams and agents of soon-to-be free agents have been illegally negotiating, unless someone really believes it takes 2 minutes to negotiate the free agent deals that are announced soon after the tampering window opens.
One Cowboy in particular, quarterback Dak Prescott, will apparently be a completely different type of free agent this season, as TMZ Sports has reported things about the QBs much publicized personal affairs. Meanwhile, his club is dealing with the end of their long pursuit of Maxx Crosby. Which edge rushers could they go after to fill the glaring roster need?
Dallas won’t be the only team in pursuit of these talents, or that at other positions. Some teams have gotten a jump, as they’ve worked out trades to fill holes, such as the Packers landing LB Zaire Franklin as they prepare to lose Quay Walker. The 49ers have inked their kicker to a long-term deal on the same day the Cowboys slapped a second-round tender on Brandon Aubrey. In this game, it’s all somewhat related.
