The Dallas Cowboys and Tampa Bay Buccaneers need help at edge rusher, so it comes as no surprise that they both have interest in the top one available.

According to Easton Butler of Packers Report, the Bucs and Cowboys are the two teams most interested in signing Cincinnati Bengals pending free agent, Trey Hendrickson.

Butler goes on to add that while more teams could get involved, the Cowboys and Bucs appear to be the front-runners for his services.

“Two of the teams most interested in pending [free agent] Trey Hendrickson, are the Cowboys and Buccaneers, per source,” Butler reported. “While another team could enter, these are the heaviest on him.”

Dallas failed to replace the production lost by the Micah Parsons trade last season, and despite a valiant effort, they fell short of landing Maxx Crosby.

The Bucs have Haason Reddick set to hit the open market, but even if he does return, Tampa Bay would still need more.

Hendrickson avoided getting the franchise tag from the Bengals, which finally set him free to the open market.

He is coming off a down season that was marred by injury and will be 32 this year, but Hendrickson also led the NFL in sacks from 2023-24, so it’s too early to say Hendrickson is on any sort of decline.

Spotrac projects a two-year, $50.8 million contract for Hendrickson, which sounds about right considering his age and 2025 injury issue.

Had Hendrickson hit the free agent market a few years ago, he probably could’ve garnered at least $10 million more annually.
