The Chicago Bears may have just received encouraging news as they search for a replacement after trading star wide receiver DJ Moore earlier this offseason.

Chicago sent Moore to the Buffalo Bills in a blockbuster deal that immediately reshaped the team’s offensive outlook. While the move created significant salary cap flexibility and additional draft capital, it also left the Bears with a major hole in their receiving corps.

Now, new projections suggest the Bears could already have a solution.

According to prediction market Polymarket, Chicago has emerged as the current favorite to land veteran wide receiver Mike Evans in free agency. The market gives the Bears roughly a 29% chance of signing the six-time Pro Bowler. This is the highest odds among all teams currently linked to him.

Several contenders remain in the mix as well. The San Francisco 49ers trail Chicago with 15% odds. Additionally, the Green Bay Packers, Philadelphia Eagles and Baltimore Ravens are all tied around 13%.

The growing buzz around Chicago has come somewhat out of nowhere. The Bears were not widely linked to him earlier in the offseason.

The speculation only began to surface Monday morning.

New betting odds surfaced shortly after NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported Monday morning that Evans is preparing to test the open market.

“Sources: #Bucs legend Mike Evans is poised to become a free agent next hour. Interested teams have gotten the sense he’s serious about leaving Tampa Bay after 12 seasons,” Schultz wrote on social media.

Although Evans is no longer in his prime, he remains one of the most accomplished wide receivers of his generation.

Evans Still Producing at Elite Level

Even at 32 years old, Evans remains extremely reliable.

The longtime Tampa Bay star has recorded 866 receptions for 13,052 yards and 108 touchdowns during his 12-year career. He also owns one of the most impressive consistency records in league history.

Evans began his career with 11 consecutive 1,000-yard seasons. The streak has only been matched by Hall of Fame legend Jerry Rice.

His ability to dominate in contested catch situations, stretch the field vertically and remain a constant red-zone threat has made him one of the best receivers of the last decade.

Because of that production, Evans is expected to command a massive contract in free agency. According to reports from FOX Sports’ Greg Auman, multiple teams have already made offers worth around $27 million per year.

Bears Could Be Ideal Landing Spot

For a team like Chicago that just freed up a lot of cap space, giving quarterback Caleb Williams another elite weapon is the type of investment that could make sense.

Evans is reportedly prioritizing several factors as he evaluates offers. This includes playing with a quarterback he believes in, competing for a Super Bowl and joining an offense that will feature him heavily.

Chicago could realistically offer all three.

With free agency negotiations now underway, Evans’ decision could arrive sooner rather than later. And according to Polymarket, the Bears are the favorites.
