The New Orleans Saints have agreed to terms with former Atlanta Falcons linebacker Kaden Elliss on a reported three-year, $33 million contract. Elliss was originally drafted by the Saints in the seventh round of the 2019 NFL Draft.
After spending four seasons in New Orleans, Elliss signed a three-year deal with the Falcons in 2023. The versatile linebacker thrived during his three seasons in Atlanta, and likely played himself out of the team’s price range in free agency.
Not only are the Falcons losing one of their best defenders, but they will have to face him twice a year. Defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich recently said it would take more than one player to replace Elliss, and now the team will have to find someone capable playing next to Divine Deablo.
One option is former second-round pick Troy Andersen, who recently had his contract adjusted so he can return for the 2026 season. The Falcons also signed former Texans linebacker Christian Harris and former Browns edge Cameron Thomas.
