ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that the Bears have added a new offensive tackle to their roster in Jedrick Wills Jr. Wills would play left tackle for the Cleveland Browns in 2024 after missing the entire 2025 season with an MCL injury. He has been taking multiple visits recently, trying to get back into the NFL after struggling to stay on the field in recent years.

Wills has extreme talent at the left tackle position, as he was drafted by the Browns with the 10th pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. However, he has only played in 13 games (12 starts) since 2023, so health is certainly a concern. After sitting out the 2025 season, Wills is hoping the injuries are behind him, but there is a lot of talent there in his 6-foot-5, 307-pound frame.

For the Bears, they are looking to solidify the offensive line with center Garrett Bradbury being traded this offseason as well as an injury at left tackle. Being paired on the left side of the offensive line with left guard Joe Thuney, teams are going to target the edge on this side of the line off the edge.

Chicago has already re-signed left tackle Braxton Jones, so it appears this will be a competition for the starting job. With Ozzy Trapilo recovering from a ruptured patellar tendon, the winner of that battle could be protecting Caleb Williams’ blindside. It will be intriguing to see if he can begin to showcase his abilities for the Bears this season and improve his value for his NFL career.
