TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Alabama returned to the practice field for its third spring practice ahead of the 2026 college football season. The media was allowed to view 13 minutes (three periods) for the Crimson Tide, getting our first look at the quarterback battle between Austin Mack and Keelon Russell, as well as the 43 newcomers to the Crimson Tide. We published what we saw from Alabama football’s practice.

Â
Alabama offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb spoke after practice, giving a glowing endorsement of left tackle Jackson Lloyd, who Grubb said was “the guy” for Alabama at left tackle. In other spots, the Tide has open competitions at receiver and in the running back room, looking to replace major production from last season in both those rooms.
