Sean Payton’s keeping the band together.

The Denver Broncos are bringing back wide receiver Lil’Jordan Humphrey on a one-year deal, according to a report from NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero. Denver has now re-signed or tendered 17 in-house free agents.

Humphrey (6-4, 225 pounds) originally entered the league as an undrafted free agent out of Texas in 2019 with the New Orleans Saints, who were coached by Payton at the time. LJH followed Payton to the Broncos when the coach took Denver’s head coach position in 2023.

After two seasons with the Broncos, Humphrey initially signed with the New York Giants last spring, but Denver poached him off New York’s practice squad in November. The 27-year-old receiver is not heavily featured in Payton’s passing game, but he is an excellent blocker. Humphrey has totaled 75 receptions for 926 yards and eight touchdowns in his career, including nine catches for 101 yards and one score in seven games with the Broncos last fall.

Humphrey reunites with Courtland Sutton, Pat Bryant, Marvin Mims, Troy Franklin and Michael Bandy as Denver appears to be running it back with the same wide receiver room from 2025. The team will undoubtedly look for more depth and competition during the NFL draft, and there are a few notable free agents still available as well.
