NFL fans tuning in to watch the Tennessee Titans this season will find a squad with a whole new look, as the franchise has revealed new uniforms and an updated logo the team will be sporting on the field this fall — possibly even on NBC’s Sunday Night Football at some point!
How to Watch
Watch Sunday Night Football on NBC and streaming on Peacock.
The Tennessee Titans have a long history in the NFL, though they of course weren’t always called the “Titans.” The team got its start in Houston, Texas as the Houston Oilers in 1960 and played there until 1996. The franchise moved to Tennessee in 1997 and played two seasons as the Tennessee Oilers. But it wasn’t until 1999 that the modern-day Tennessee Titans were born, when the team was renamed and has maintained that moniker ever since.

It’s those decades of history that the team took into account with this updated rebrand for the team, with a design and color scheme meant to represent the franchise’s history while creating something fresh to move the team forward. The new jerseys and designs were revealed by the team in a social media post this week.
The Tennessee Titans new uniforms and logo, explained
So what can fans expect to see with the new uniforms and logo? Starting this season, the Titans blue jerseys and white pants will be the primary home jersey, with white jerseys as the primary road look, paired with the option of light blue or white pants.
The home jerseys will feature the word “TITANS” stitched on top of the numbers across the chest, with the away jerseys showcasing “TENNESSEE” in the same place. The light blue jersey version features white numbers outlined in red, while the white jerseys feature light blue numbers outlined in red. Numbers will appear on the front and back of the jerseys, as well as the shoulders.
“We wanted to come up with something that took the best parts of all of that and bring it together in a way that makes sense,” Burke Nihill, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Titans, said in a statement. “I feel like we’re building on the legacy of what got us here, and we’re doing it in a way that is going to set the course of this organization for decades to come in a pretty special way.”
The light blue color should look familiar to fans, as it was a color scheme the team said proved popular via throwback Oilers jerseys, plus was a top option in focus groups and fan surveys.
“I think that Titans blue is a really bold color, a really powerful color,” Erin Swartz, Senior Vice President of Brand Marketing with the Titans, explained. “Seven other teams in the NFL have navy, but this color is much more unique to us. So, it’s a way for fans to uniquely show their support, and really fill stadiums both home and away with Titans blue to support their team.”
As for the updated logo, the primary logo drops the flames and features a redesigned white “T” inside Titans blue in a circle. There are white and red accents, and all corners of the state represented through the familiar three white stars. The updated logo will be showcased on each side of a white helmet. A stripe across the top of the helmet will evoke a six-string stripe, an homage to Tennessee’s country music legacy.
The chest plate font is in a woodblock style, which the team says is meant to symbolize Nashville’s “creative spirit” via print-making shops. The inside of the jersey features a collar tab with “WE” printed on it, a reference to the “We Over Me” slogan of playing as a team.
Football fans will get their first live look at the jerseys this fall when the new-look Titans take the field behind star second-year quarterback Cam Ward.
