Long before Nakobe Dean won a Super Bowl with the Philadelphia Eagles or earned himself a payday in free agency, he was a Unanimous All-American and a Butkus Award winner. He and Quay Walker enjoyed three seasons together during their time with the mighty SEC’s Georgia Bulldogs. They were part of a College Football Playoff National Championship to conclude the 2021 NCAA season. Both were selected in the 2022 NFL Draft that followed. Walker was the 22nd selection, one taken by the Green Bay Packers. Dean was taken 61 picks later in Round 3.
Fate has had its say, and they are now teammates again. Upon further review, however, fate wasn’t the only voice in the conversation about their future. What’s that saying? Fortune favors the bold, right? It appears that Dean and Walker took matters into their own hands.

The new league year began on November 11, and teams have certainly shelled out the cash. Deam left Philadelphia but landed on his feet, signing a three-year deal with the Las Vegas Raiders. What can we say? We’re just glad that he didn’t join the Dallas Cowboys.
Walker also joined the ‘Silver and Black’. His deal covers four years and will pay him $40.5 million.

They were introduced to the Vegas media. Naturally, they were asked about playing together again. It appears both are excited about the opportunity.
The reunion feels fitting for two players who built their reputations side by side in college. They’re hoping to prove that chemistry translates to the NFL with the Raiders.
History suggests their transition could be seamless. If the same leadership, intensity, and instincts that defined their days with the Bulldogs show up in the AFC West, the team Al Davis built may quietly rebuild the heart of its defense with a dangerous pair of defenders.
