Ja’Quan McMillian has officially returned to the Denver Broncos.

The 25-year-old cornerback signed his one-year, $5.767 million restricted free agent tender, according to a report from the Denver Gazette’s Chris Tomasson. McMillian is now under contract for the 2026 season, and he’s currently scheduled to become a free agent in 2027.

Other NFL clubs could still negotiate with McMillian, but if the cornerback receives an offer that the Broncos do not want to match, the new club would have to trade a second-round draft pick to Denver in exchange for the cornerback. That’s unlikely to happen, so JMac’s likely to remain the Broncos’ slot cornerback this fall.

The cornerback’s agent, Deryk Gilmore, told Tomasson that McMillian hopes to sign a multi-year extension with Denver.

“I would love for him to have many years with the Broncos.” Gilmore said. “Hopefully we can work something out sooner than later.”

Denver has plenty of remaining salary cap space, and some of it could be put toward in-house extensions in the coming months. McMillian will be a name to watch.
