Michael Pittman Jr. and Jamel Dean’s Pittsburgh Steelers jersey numbers will look a lot like their old ones. Pittman will wear No. 11 for the team, as shared by the Steelers’ Twitter/X account Friday afternoon. Dean will wear No. 35, the same he had in Tampa Bay.

Both officially signed their contracts earlier in the day and held press conferences.

Pittman wore No. 11 during his six-year career with the Indianapolis Colts. During his college days at USC, he sported No. 6 and wore No. 1 in high school.

Traded from the Colts to the Steelers, Pittman now serves as Pittsburgh’s No. 2 wide receiver, and best player in that role of the past several seasons. During today’s presser, he revealed he pushed to come to Pittsburgh and is excited by the chance to run a fuller route tree after serving as an underneath target for the Colts in 2025. Last season, he averaged less than 10 yards on 80 catches with an average depth of target in single digits.

No Steeler began 2025 wearing No. 11 but WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling sported it after being signed mid-season. Plenty of other receivers have worn the digits before. In 2024, Van Jefferson was assigned No. 11. In 2023, Allen Robinson II held it, Chase Claypool wore No. 11 during his Steelers tenure, and Donte Moncrief had it during his brief time with the team. Markus Wheaton also wore those digits while with the team from 2013-2016.

Other notable Steelers to wear No. 11 include WR/returner Stefan Logan, QB Kent Graham, Gene Mingo, the league’s first black kicker, and DB Howard Hartley.

Dean wore No. 35 during his seven-year career with the Buccaneers. In 2025, RB Lew Nichols wore it for the Steelers. Notable past Steelers assigned No. 35 include CB Arthur Maulet, special teams ace Ross Ventrone, FB Dan Kreider, DB Delton Hall, and RB/FB John Henry Johnson.

Earlier today, RB Rico Dowdle revealed he is switching from the No. 5 he wore with the Carolina Panthers to No. 13 with Pittsburgh. Safety Jaquan Brisker’s deal hasn’t been made official, but that will likely be cemented next week. The same applies to S Darnell Savage, who has reportedly agreed to a one-year deal with the team. Their digits should be known by then.
